Tulane Reunion Weekend 2025 CME Classes

The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine is pleased to host four, in-person, hands-on cooking classes for CME credit over the Spring 2025 School of Medicine Reunion Weekend! These interactive sessions will explore different culinary medicine principles and provide medical professionals with practical skills and tips they can use in their practice to assist patients with diet and lifestyle modifications. Each class will earn 3-4 hours of CME credit and will bring participants together with other Tulane alumni to cook a delicious and nutritious meal that will be enjoyed together at the end of class. Please note that you do not need to be a reunion attendee to register – all healthcare professionals are welcome. Spouses and other guests are also welcome to join, but they must purchase a ticket to reserve a spot. Click here to register for the sessions through our curriculum partner, the American College of Culinary Medicine.

Class Schedule:

Friday, April 4th, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm: Module 1 – Introduction to Culinary Medicine

Friday, April 4th, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Module 6 – Sodium, Potassium, & Hypertension

Saturday, April 5th, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm: Module 2 – Weight Management & Portion Control

Saturday, April 5th, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm: Module 7 – Carbohydrates & Diabetes

What to Expect: Upon registering, you will get access to the online module and instructions relevant to your in-person session at GCCM. Each module requires about 30 minutes of pre-class, online work to prepare you for your time in the kitchen. On the day of class, we will start each session with a case study exercise and discussion. We’ll then spend at least 1 hour in the kitchen cooking up a delicious menu of dishes. We’ll review the corresponding nutrition information and culinary skills while everyone sits down to enjoy the food prepared. All ingredients, supplies, and equipment are provided!

Please note that you may register for multiple sessions in the same transaction, but if you are registering more than one person, you must complete separate transactions so that each participant can have a unique login for the online curriculum site.

Classes will be held in-person at the Teaching Kitchen in Mid-City: 300 N. Broad St, Suite 102, New Orleans, LA 70119.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Chef Heather: hnace@tulane.edu or 504-988-9108
