Private Classes

Looking for a fun, unique activity for an upcoming event? Book a hands-on cooking class with the chefs from the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine! We host classes for all kinds of events including corporate team-building workshops, birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, and anything else you are looking to celebrate.

Our hands-on classes focus on healthy recipes developed around the Mediterranean Diet and practical skills for the home cook. We are happy to work with you to customize a menu that meets your needs and highlights the culinary techniques you’d like to learn. Currently, we are offering in-person and virtual classes. In-person classes take place in our state-of-the-art teaching kitchen in New Orleans where we can accommodate up to 20 guests for hands-on cooking. Classes run for two hours and can be scheduled during the day, in the evening, or on weekends.

For virtual classes, our chef instructor leads your group through the recipes selected from the comfort of your home kitchens. You will be cooking right alongside our chefs and learning about nutrition while you make a delicious and nutritious meal to enjoy at the end of the session. We provide the recipes, a shopping list, and an equipment list prior to the class to make sure everyone has time to prepare. Classes can be planned for 1 and 2 hours, depending on the complexity of the dishes selected. We set up a private Zoom link for your class and can even record the session and send you the video if requested. Added Bonus: If you are local to New Orleans, we can also take the hassle out of shopping for you and provide the ingredients needed for class. We set up a designated window before the class for your guests to pick up a bag from our kitchen so they have everything they need ready to go when they log on!

Here’s what some of our past guests have to say about our private classes:

“The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine and its chefs were a pleasure to work with and learn from. Through every step of the way from planning to the day of the class, chefs Heather and Amber were considerate of the needs and specifications of our support group. It was a delightful experience complete with some great food and lessons to take home on crafting healthy, flavorful recipes. I know our support group will be looking forward to working with the Goldring Center again!”

“We sought cooking classes through the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine during the pandemic as a way to provide an enriching activity and virtual social engagement for our members. What we received was so much more. The classes were engaging, full of pro-tips that ensured even our most experienced home cooks learned something new, and the ingredients were fresh and enticing. Chef Heather and Amber took great care to select recipes that met our group’s needs and they provided a class that enfolded the gamut of our members—from beginners to experienced and tailored to be inclusive of our members’ wide age range. They also took care of everything, so our planning was no-fuss. More importantly, the classes were a wonderful shared experience and conversation starter among our group for weeks afterward. We are looking forward to scheduling more virtual classes and in-person when circumstances permit.”
