Thanks to a generous grant from the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine has teamed up with the Crescent City Farmers Market to provide Free hands-on cooking classes that highlight local and seasonal produce to participants in the Fresh & Local Market Match program. This fantastic opportunity not only allows SNAP shoppers to learn more about seasonal fruits and vegetables through educational materials and cooking classes, but also supports our local farmers by providing a dollar-for-dollar match for funds used to purchase fruits and vegetables via the farmers market. In addition to helping the local economy, it also helps to ensure a more sustainable and resilient food system.
