Tulane Reunion Weekend 2023 CME Classes
The Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine is pleased to host three, in-person, hands-on cooking classes for CME credit over the Spring 2023 School of Medicine Reunion Weekend! These interactive sessions will explore different culinary medicine principles and provide medical professionals with practical skills and tips they can use in their practice to assist patients with diet and lifestyle modifications. Each class will earn up to 4 hours of CME credit and will bring participants together with other Tulane alumni to cook a delicious and nutritious meal that will be enjoyed together at the end of class. Learn more about each module and register for sessions here.
Class Schedule:
Friday, March 24th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm: Module 1 – Introduction to Culinary Medicine
Friday, March 24th, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Module 5 – Protein, Amino Acids, Vegetarian Diets, & Eating Disorders
Saturday, March 25th, 9:00 am – 12:00pm: Module 16 – Anti-Inflammatory Diet
What to Expect: Upon registering, you will get access to the online module and instructions relevant to your in-person session at GCCM. Each module requires about 30 minutes of pre-class, online work to prepare you for your time in the kitchen. On the day of class, we will start with a case study exercise and then spend at least 1 hour in the kitchen cooking up a delicious menu of dishes. We’ll review the relevant nutrition information and culinary skills while everyone sits down to enjoy the food prepared before wrapping up with a review of the case study. All ingredients, supplies, and equipment are provided!
Classes will be held in-person at the Teaching Kitchen in Mid-City: 300 N. Broad St, Suite 102, New Orleans, LA 70119
