In the spring and fall of 2023, GCCM hosted a cooking class specifically tailored for kids ages 8-12. Led by Tulane graduate Michael Yang, the curriculum was developed by undergraduate students with a passion for promoting community wellness and education about nutrition. This was a unique STEM education opportunity that helped kids explore the relationship between nutrition, physical activity, and their digestive system. The class wrapped up with a hands-on cooking lesson and a shared lunch of the food prepared in class!
